I would also recommend getting plainly woven, light fabrics that do not have tight stitches.

So whenever you are ready, let us move on to creating a pattern.

Pattern

We are going to be working with a running stitch again. This is because boro uses the techniques of sashiko to complete the mend. However, this time, we are going to work along the borders of the fabric. So if your fabric should look like a piece of square or a rectangle, your stitches will have a square or rectangular finish.

The arrangement of the fabric depends on the number of fabrics you have chosen for the stitch. But regardless of how many materials you have chosen, we will still be working along the border. Confused? Don’t worry. It will become clear as we work our way with the stitches.
